The front playground at Brandon Park Primary School was ready for a new lease of life. The brief was to revitalise the space and create a more engaging outdoor environment for students to explore, play and connect with nature.

A dry creek became the central landscape feature, creating movement and a natural focal point through the playground. New landscape areas, native planting and hardscaping were introduced around the existing setting, while the cubby house was renovated and integrated into the renewed environment.

An Indigenous Yarning Circle was also incorporated into the landscape, creating a dedicated place for gathering, connection and learning.

The completed playground has transformed the character of the space, replacing a tired area with a more natural and varied landscape. The combination of planting, rockwork, pathways and play elements creates an environment designed to encourage curiosity and bring students back outdoors.
